Chris Johnson Welcome to the 12th IET System Safety and Cyber Security Conference (SSCS) - the only event of its kind in the UK where both safety and security engineers can meet, network and share best practice between the two disciplines.

Sessions at this year’s conference will focus on integrating safety and cyber security, implementing and adopting security approaches, system and software safety.

In addition to the main two-day conference featuring presentations from invited speakers and full peer reviewed papers, we will have a dedicated workshop day with interactive tutorials (30 October) and a seminar co-organised with Department of Transport (UK) on Key Cyber Principles for Connected and Automated Vehicles (1 November).

“This year’s conference provides a full programme of presentations that address the two most significant problems for the engineering of complex systems.

"We also have a strong social programme; providing significant networking opportunities together with exhibitors and demonstrations of new products – all helping to ensure the safety and security of complex applications.”

Professor Chris Johnson, Head of Computing Science, University of Glasgow
SSCS 2017 Conference Chair
