The 7th International Conference on Renewable Power Generation
26 - 27 September 2018 | DTU, Lyngby, Copenhagen, Denmark
About the event
"The tremendous success of renewable energy sources (RES) is based on many years of dedicated research and technology development. Further improvements of the technologies are needed, and novel concepts must be developed to continue the success and bring the ongoing transformation of our energy system to the next level.
"Additionally, new challenges and possibilities arise when a large share of RES is integrated into our power systems. Cost-effectiveness and reliability of the system must be maintained while steadily increasing the penetration levels. This requires new solutions.
"The IET RPG conference will address topics related to these exact areas: renewable technology development, renewable integration to the power system and associated solutions.
"Advancement of the field requires researchers and professionals to address new questions, come up with novel ideas and test new solutions. Accordingly, it is crucial that we come together as a community to share our ideas, experiences, and lessons learned.
"This year, the RPG conference takes place in Denmark. Denmark is the heart of the global wind energy industry and has unique experiences with integration of RES in the power system.
"Today, the wind power penetration in the Danish energy system is more than 40% (early average) on top of the solar power and biomass power generation, and the country has high ambitions regarding a complete shift to renewable energy sources.
"Hosting the conference at DTU, which has a strong position in energy research and is ranked second in the world within the academic subject of Energy Science and Technology, will ensure we can build upon the success of previous RPG conferences held in China, the UK and Italy, attracting delegates from around the world.
"I very much look forward to seeing you in Copenhagen."
