Coventry Light Tram

Bringing energy efficient environmentally clean transport to the city centre

Speaker: Dr. Nick Mallinson, Programme Manager, WMG Centre HVM Catapult

Nick will outline the design and development of this new tram for Coventry

The very light rail service in Coventry is being designed by WMG at the University of Warwick.

The project seeks to significantly reduce costs developing lightweight battery operated rail vehicles and low cost tracks. They will not require overhead cables.

This will enable local authorities to install new community rail services and reduce congestion more easily.
