Distributed Generation 2018

The IET Course on Distributed Generation

6 - 8 November 2018 | University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK

CPD 18 hours

About the course

“Over recent years we have witnessed a dramatic growth in the number of distributed generators seeking to connect to the distribution network. Accompanying this surge in volume of connections have been concerns that customers are encountering a number of difficulties in navigating their way through the connection process.”

The IET 3 day course on Distributed Generation provides engineers with a solid understanding of both the technical and applied issues relating to this critical part of the power industry.

Through a combination of technical information and real world case studies, you will study a large range of topics, from induction generators to power electronics, protection and standards. Standards covered include; The GB Distribution Code, G59, G83, G74, P28 and the European Standards and Network Codes.

This course has been designed to cover all the fundamentals of distributed generation and connection split into 3 themed days offering plenty of knowledge sharing opportunities.

By attending, you will not only increase your knowledge in the principles and practices of distributed generation, you also have the chance to take advantage of the CPD hours attached to this course for new and experienced engineers.

Sessions include:

    • Synchronous generators
    • Induction generators
