A glance at the cutting-edge research in Ultrasonic Non-destructive Testing
Non-destructive testing (NDT) of engineering materials and structures is essential to ensure the safety in operation and reduce maintenance costs. The use of ultrasonic waves to detect internal defects forms a big part of the field. I'll talk about current challenges faced in the industry and how I'm using multidisciplinary approach to solve the problems.
Speaker
Lily Tu started her PhD at FIND-CDT (Future Innovation in Non-destructive Evaluation Centre of Doctoral Training) within University of Bristol in 2021, after graduating with a 1st class Mechanical Engineering (MEng) in the same year. Outside research, she actively supports outreach and women in engineering activities.
