Shazia Akbar PhD

Shazia Akbar PhD

Machine Learning Researcher

Shazia received her PhD in Computer Science from the University of Dundee, U.K., in 2015, where she focused on deep learning applications in radiology and digital pathology. Following her PhD she joined the Department of Radiology at New York University, U.S., before moving to Canada in 2016. Shazia recently completed her postdoctoral training at the Department of Medical Biophysics University of Toronto, as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Sunnybrook Health Science Center, and she was also an affiliate of the Vector Institute. Her previous work at the Vector Institute and Sunnybrook Research Institute is published in Nature.
