Welcome Your IET account

Domestic Renewables In Your Area

For the first time in living memory the IET has arranged a panel of local experts who will make you aware of the opportunities and pitfalls of installing domestic scale renewable energy.

Five expert speakers will form a panel and each give brief (c5 minutes) presentations.

The panel includes both suppliers/installers and users so you can see both sides of the coin.

All technologies are operating successfully for projects within 20 miles of Inverness. Due to the nature of wind and hydro aspects these projects are be larger than some other domestic renewables.

Currently the plan is to have a brief question and answer session after each presentation. After the final presentation we will open the event to the floor (you) for further discussion and debate.

As Kirsty Wark isn’t available the detailed format may change a little.

Your panellists currently include:

PV: Jamie Di Sotto, AES Solar

  • Air Source Heat Pumps:  Mark Galbraith, Plumbing and Renewables Ltd
  • Battery Storage:  Josh King, AES Solar
  • Wind and Hydro: Stephen MacKenzie, Auchmore Farm. From a developer/user’s view.
  • PV and Battery Storage:  Ewan MacGregor, Nairn. From an early adopter’s/user’s view.
  • Energy
  • Built environment
