Gifts that you might have got for Christmas
How some things have or haven't changed
At this year's Christmas we have decided to try something different. We will have five engineers showing and talking about gifts that they received for Christmas in their younger years. They will illustrate how these gifts were a landmark of their time, how they work and what became of them. They will show you the early stages of gaming, computing, portable audio and construction toys that shaped skills for budding designers, engineers and architects.
Young or not so young, you will enjoy seeing how various technologies and ideas have progressed over the years, and will have the opportunity to play with them yourself. Families, youngsters and college students very welcome. As it is the Christmas the presentation will also be followed by an opportunity to mingle over drinks and nibbles.
