How do you Decarbonise the transport sector? Part 1
Setting the Scene
This four part series will look at setting the scene, short/medium term, long term to 2050 and infrastructure.
Decarbonising the Transport industry to hit the UK net-zero target by 2050 requires urgent, clear and decisive action. With the increasing interconnection and complexity of infrastructure, and it is vital that a joined-up, whole-system approach is prioritised. Transport has a huge role to play in the economy reaching net zero.
Major decarbonisation pathways for transportation include switching to lower-carbon fuels, improving vehicle efficiency, and improving system-wide efficiency and exploring the use of autonomous vehicles and vehicle sharing.
This series will provide a cross industry platform to share ideas from Aerospace, Automotive and Road Transport, Railway and Marine on decarbonisation initiatives/programmes/workstreams and its impact to the everyday life.
In Part 1, we will be joined by the following speakers from industry and academia:
• Dr Arnold Gad-Briggs, Executive Director and Engineering Principal, EGB Engineering and Chair, Executive committee, IET Aerospace TN
• Dr Sang Nguyen, Research Associate in Aeronautics, Imperial College London
• Moderator, Andy Walker, Senior Product Manager (IT) - Core Engineering at Jaguar Land Rover UK
This webinar series is a joint event between the Railway, ARTS and Aerospace Techincal Networks and you can register for all 4 events using the one registration link.
