IET Singapore Network: Technical Exchange in Hong Kong
About
IET Singapore Network invites members and guests of members to join us for a Technical Exchange in Hong Kong from 11 Oct 2024 (Fri) to 13 Oct 2024 (Sun).
The visiting delegates will network with industrialists, faculty members, researchers and students from universities, visit key laboratories in the universities, facilities and participate in discussion forum in which representatives from both countries will deliver presentations about engineering and technological developments.
About Management & Technology Consultants Ltd
The company is located in Wah Lik Industrial Centre, Tsuen Wan. The owner of the company will provide a general sight tour on traditional Hong Kong industrial buildings. The delegates will have a view on special construction of multi-storey factories and share experience by the company owner on how to run industrial business in Hong Kong. The company will showcase building services design in typical industrial buildings and provide networking with technical experts during this industrial visit.
About Dinner and Technical Exchange with Hong Kong Partners
A technical exchange will be organised to share experiences. A technical topic will be shared by a speaker from Singapore and a Hong Kong speaker will share another technical topic. Delegates will be invited to participate in the discussion.
About Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) Jockey Club Campus
The Jockey Club Campus (JCC) of HKMU was opened in February 2014. JCC is only within minutes of walking distance from the Main Campus. The Gross Floor Area (GFA) is above 21,100 square metres which contains an Auditorium, a Multi-purpose Hall, Lecture Theatres and Tutorial Rooms. Specially designed facilities include Library, Computer Centre, Testing and Certification Laboratories, Clinical Nursing Education Centre, Creative Arts Studios and Laboratories, etc. Delegates will visit the School of Science and Technology at Jockey Club Campus.
About Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST)
Visit to State Key Laboratory of Advanced Displays and Optoelectronics Technologies (SKL of ADT) and showing its activities in different research areas. Attend a lecture topic on Liquid Crystal Photoalignment – bright future. Laboratory visit at HKUST Cooperation in basic display and photonics technologies, including liquid crystal display and photonics devices based on photoalignment. Basic and applied research projects at the SKL of ADT will concentrate on 5 main areas oxide thin film transistors (TFT) array technology; third generation organic LED (OLED) devices; liquid crystal display (LCD) devices; video signal processing; IC design; and frontier technologies. One major task for the SKL is to develop energy-saving green displays. This will include active matrix organic light emitting diodes (AMOLED) displays. The SKL will also provide training programs and short courses for Chinese enterprises, and hold seminars and international conferences with other institutions.
About Hong Kong University (HKU)
Delegates will tour both the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Department laboratories at the Hong Kong University. Today, HKU has gained international recognition for its accomplishments as a research-led comprehensive university.
