Mr. Paul Younis

Secretary - Department of Transport, Victoria

Paul Younis was appointed Secretary of the Victorian Department of Transport on 26 March 2019, after acting in the position since January 2019.

Paul has qualifications in Engineering, Law and Business, and has extensive leadership experience across State and Local Governments. As CEO in both regional and large metropolitan councils to the Deputy Head of Transport Victoria, Paul has been committed to delivering outcomes for stakeholders and the community.  

He joined the department as Deputy Head of Transport in 2017 and played a strategic role in the planning and management of key transport projects, ensuring Victoria’s growing transport system is integrated and coordinated. 

Along with his department of 4,000 plus staff members, Paul sees his role as leading the coordination of infrastructure priorities across all transport modes, to deliver transport solutions to all Victorians that provides simple, connected journeys.
