Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer - National Gas Transmission
Liam Barness is a Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer at National Gas Transmission, the owner and operator of the UK's national gas network.
With ten years of experience in the chemical and oil & gas industries, Liam is currently working on control system upgrade projects across the gas transmission network to mitigate cybers and process safety risks.
He is a Chartered Engineer with the IET and a member of the System Safety Engineering Technical Network, Executive committee.
Paulo Oliveira
VP of Consulting (Process Safety) - DEKRA Ops UK
Paulo is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with more than 15 years’ leadership experience in safety critical asset management in hazardous industries globally (UK, US, Europe, Middle East, APAC).
He is also a Member of BSI GEL/065/01 committee (UK committee for system safety), a Member of IEC TC65X committee (International Committee for system safety), Chair of Ad Hoc working group for Functional Safety and Cybersecurity
Paulo also Chairs the IET System Safety Technical Network.
