Artificially Intelligent Regulation (of spectra and space) - AIR

John Cioffi is one of the world’s leading experts in communications systems. With 10 to 100 billions of wirelessly communicating devices, radio spectrum regulation challenges continue to grow for both unlicensed (e.g., Wi-Fi)and licensed (e.g., mobile/cellular) cases. John will describe how dynamic, cognitive solutions are just beginning to find field use, and how these initiate the inevitable march towards increasingly artificiallyintelligent allocation of spectra and space. John will provide a review of multiuser communications fundamentals and the complexity of solutions. John will show how these solutions may find future application to magnify spectral efficiency by orders of magnitude.
