The EngTalk will discuss the features of smart energy and smart transportation respectively, and how they can promote carbon neutralization more effectively through the theory and practice of the integration of 4N4F (Energy Network, Information Network, Transportation Network, Humanity Network, and Energy Flow, Information Flow, Material Flow, Value Flow).

The characteristics of the 4th Industrial Revolution and the 5th Industrial Revolution will be discussed and 4N4F integration would promote the evolution from 4th to 5th Industrial Revolution.

Honorary Professor and Former Head of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hong Kong

Prof. C. C. Chan’s research includes the philosophy and key technologies of electric vehicles and intelligent energy systems. He has published 17 books, over 450 technical papers and holds 10 patents.

He was the Founding President of the World Electric Vehicle Association, is an Honorary Professor and Former Head of Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Hong Kong, founder of Academician C.C. Chan International Science and Technology Innovation Centre and a visiting Professor of MIT and the University of Cambridge.

His many awards include the Royal Academy of Engineering Prince Philip Medal, Chinese Academy of Engineering Guang-Hua Prize, World Federation of Engineering (WFEO) Medal of Engineering Excellence, and “Father of Asian Electric Vehicles” by Magazine Global View.
