Technical Seminar on Disinfection at Railway and Airport under Coronavirus Epidemic
As the COVID-19 strikes the countries worldwide since early this year, the transport industry is acting quickly in response to the impacts. Disinfection in mass transportations is one of the important topics to uphold hygiene and health of the public. This seminar will share how the local operators from railway and aviation sectors conduct disinfection in trains and the airport with technologies.
About the speakers
Mr. Kyle Lau, Train Services Engineering Manager of MTR Corporation Limited will share about their recent deployment of a new automated “Vapourised Hydrogen Peroxide Robot” (“VHP Robot”) to conduct deep cleaning and decontamination in train compartments. It is effective in particular to disinfect the small gaps that are difficult to reach during normal cleaning work.
Mr. Amen Tong, General Manager, Technical Services of the Airport Authority, is responsible for maintenance management of the Authority’s assets at the Hong Kong International Airport. Under the COVID-19 pandemic, Amen will share the control measures in the Hong Kong International Airport to minimise the risk of spreading the virus potentially from the arriving passengers.
