The Tram systems of Birmingham, Smethwick and West Bromwich, Part 2

This Presentation follows the presentation of March 2019 ‘The Tram systems of Staffordshire and The Black Country’. It takes a look at the Tram systems and operators within Birmingham and surrounding districts from the first horse drawn tram cars, the cables Tram cars, steam powered Tram cars and the development of the electric tram system. This is an opportunity to look at the different historical systems used since the introduction of a public transport system in the West Midlands. Based the modern concept of public transport in the West Midlands it gives the chance to reflect on what has been learnt from the previous tram systems and to think of the progress made.
