F-35 Lightning at Marham

The F-35 Lightning is the first 5th Generation, supersonic stealth fighter aircraft operated by the UK.  The aircraft was brought into Service by the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy in 2015 in the United States with the UK Force standing up operations at Royal Air Force Marham in 2018.  Wing Commander Matt Peak, Officer Commanding Engineering and Logistics Wing at RAF Marham, will provide an overview of the journey that the Lightning Team has taken over the past 5 years, focusing on the transformation of RAF Marham and its people from a Tornado to a Lightning station.  Wing Commander Peak will talk about the complexities of operating highly sophisticated new technologies such as stealth, the challenges of the Force’s first operational deployment in Summer 2019 and first embarked detachment to the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier in Oct 2019.
