Nuclear engineering for safety, control and security
13-14 March 2019 | Bristol Marriott Royal Hotel, Bristol
About the conference
The 7th Nuclear Engineering conference provides a perfect forum for hearing from the ONR about what is expected of personnel working in nuclear facilities whilst learning from engineers, managers and other specialists implementing solutions to challenges the whole industry faces, whatever the facility.
The scope of Nuclear engineering for safety, control and security covers all stages of the lifecycle of nuclear from new build through existing plant operations (civil and defence) to end of life.
The Conference starts with two compelling workshops: Statistical Testing Methods for ‘Smart Device’ Justification and Challenges for nuclear innovation: Robotics and AI.
The second day has a fantastic line-up of industry experts to share their experience and solutions on 2019’s key themes.
Themes for 2019 include
- Nuclear new build
- Managing obsolescence
Key benefits of attending
- An opportunity for you to question the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) in a less formal situation than an inspection. They are great supporters of this event and welcome the chance to talk to you there.
- Aimed at control & instrumentation, design and systems engineers, safety case authors and managers, all talks will be relevant to you.
- Technical sessions always give you practical advice for current challenges and make you consider what innovation is right for nuclear new build in the UK and globally.
- Half day workshops encourage you to take part in discussions to learn more about important subjects.
“Top nuclear event with a good mix of regulators and end-users, and not over-crowded with vendors...Will attend next year.”
“I really enjoyed the day, there was not one topic discussed that was not relevant. I have not attended before; but found it really useful and would like to attend future events.”
“The workshop was thought provoking. Ideas around cultural changes required for effective cyber security were translatable to all industries not just nuclear.”
