About

It is with great pleasure that we announce the launch of the 8th IET GCC robotics Challenge.

This annual IET GCC Robotics Challenge is supported by the IET, The Institution of Engineering and Technology, in addition, it is technically supported by the IET Robotics and Mechatronics TN.

The IET-GCC Robotics Challenge has been running for the last seven years, and the year 2024 is the eighth edition of this challenge. We are honored to invite young professionals to participate in this annual robotics challenge which will run during Saturday 16 November 2024 as an online event.

For local rounds (last day to receive local winning trams is 15 October 2024). The challenge consists of two phases (the local rounds across the GCC) and the (final round for winners from the local rounds across the GCC).

About the 8th IET GCC Robotics Challenge, 2024:

The IET GCC Robotics Challenge is an annual robotics challenge that aims to encourage undergraduate students and young professionals across the GCC to build innovative robotics systems.

This annual IET GCC Robotics Challenge is supported by the IET, The Institution of Engineering and Technology, In addition, it is technically supported by the IET Robotics and Mechatronics TN.

The challenge has received substantial attraction from the young professional members, engineers, IT related specialists, and students studying Engineering and Technology.

The GCC Robotics Competition aims to encourage undergraduate students and young professionals across the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) to build an innovative robust robot and compete in a pre-designed requirements with space and time constraints, utilizing their academic knowledge and technical skills.

In addition, the robotics challenge presents an opportunity to gather experts and young engineers for an open interaction event to discuss and promote recent advances in robotics. The challenge is meant for the six GCC countries: (Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman).

Teams from (GCC) can participate, and each team is to present its ideas and main concepts related to a defined task to the judges.  The challenge also aims at exploring technology developments, achieving sustainable development, and building an innovative and informed generation.
