A Postcard From Sharjah (Kendal)
A Record of a Journey Round the World in 1937
About
The finding of a number of postcards, all sent by one lady from around the world in the 1930’s started an internet investigation to find out who she was and how she came to travel round the world by air, sea and rail in 1937. Of particular interest to the presenter was a postcard from Sharjah showing an Imperial Airways ‘Empire’ flying boat. The investigation produced a detailed description of her journey and this presentation describes that journey and is illustrated by some of her postcards and archive films.
