A sustainable approach to re-engineer locomotives - the Positive Traction 08e

About

Positive Traction has developed a sustainable approach to re-engineer older locomotives combining modern technologies with proven mechanical systems that are able to deliver cost effective solutions.

The concept has been applied to Class 08 shunting locomotives, a design that emerged over 70 years ago.  The result is a battery electric locomotive that delivers enhanced technical and economic performance.

Positive Traction will share insights on how their approach to managing obsolescence by a combination of adapting existing equipment and combining innovative technology to deliver the 08e battery electric locomotive, a design that has entered service and has the potential to offer further sustainable traction solutions.
