Achieving reliable thickness measurement in a production environment
Hosted by Micro-Epsilon UK Ltd.
About
Target material types and the production processes used all have a bearing on how the thickness of a product can be measured.
Sometimes it is based on the setting of a gap on a roller or adjustment of dies in an extrusion head. It could be liquid poured and cured like glass, rubber or metal. Maybe it’s part of a secondary process where the basic material is already produced but it’s then combined with similar or differing materials as multiple layers or even woven strands that are then bonded, like in carbon fibre.
Whether it’s measuring the gap, measuring material over a roller, measuring in free space, or single sided on transparent materials. At Micro-Epsilon we have a broad range of measurement technologies that can be used to make these measurements.
Thickness measurement is easy, right?
What could possibly go wrong?
In this webinar we will discuss the errors associated with real-world thickness measurement and how we overcome them.
Some are obvious, others less so, but all combine to give potentially large errors in the measurement.
Then, even if you’ve overcome the obstacles to create a working solution, how do you prove the performance for your quality department and ensure the system maintains this performance?
Micro Epsilon has developed solutions to achieve proven system accuracy, not just sensor accuracy and during this webinar we will show you many examples of installed solutions for thickness measurement in a range of industries including Metals, Rubber and Plastics.
