AF Harvey lecture: Going viral: Harnessing Deep Learning and Quantum Materials for Early Disease Diagnosis

Congratulations to Professor Rachel McKendry. Professor McKendry is awarded the IET AF Harvey Engineering Research Prize 2023 in recognition of her outstanding contributions to research in the field of medical engineering and technology, specifically in the area of biosensors harnessing advances in quantum and digital technologies. Her distinguished contribution spans from biosensors to probe mechanisms of novel antibiotics, to quantum spin-enhanced sensing for virus detection, to mHealth and deep learning tools for public health, which have been adopted for use at scale in populations in both developed and developing countries.
