About

The presentation will initially discuss the different types of IP and why these are important. It will then go into more detail on the patenting process: how it works, what working with a patent attorney involves and the merits of filing a patent (including briefly touching on patent box). The presentation will briefly discuss AI generated inventions and ownership of an invention developed during employment.

Ms Alice Stuart-Grumbar

Senior Associate, Patent Attorney - D Young & Co LLP in London

Alice is a Chartered UK and European patent attorney with 10 years’ experience working at D Young & Co LLP in London. Alice has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Durham University. Her practice specialises in aerospace and automotive engineering, and mechanical systems. She has experience in the prosecution and drafting of UK and European patent applications for a large range of technologies and for a variety of clients, including multinational companies, SMEs and individual inventors. She also has experience in preparing and filing UK design applications. In 2023 Alice became a registered representative before the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
