Animal Volunteering Service at Big Tree Ha (Big Tree Animal Sanctuary And Adoption Centre Ltd.)
Organized by YESS of Younger Members Section of the IET Hong Kong
About
Big Tree Animal Sanctuary is a registered charity dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing lifelong sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals in Hong Kong. With over 300 rescued animals (primarily dogs) under care, the sanctuary relies on volunteer support for daily operations and promotes adoption through community education.
Volunteers will contribute to animal welfare while learning about Hong Kong’s stray animal crisis and the sanctuary’s rescue efforts.
Tasks include cleaning kennels, sanitizing feeding areas, and refreshing water stations. Volunteers will also prepare meals, assist with feeding routines, and participate in supervised animal interactions such as socializing through play, leash-walking suitable dogs, and grooming. Through these activities, participants will develop ethical values of love, respect, and protection toward animals while supporting adoption initiatives.
