Come and find out about the current revolution in AI - what has caused it and what technology lies at its core. How afraid should we really be? Chris started his career as a research scientist and team leader at Hughes Aircraft Company, working mostly in the USA. For 20 years he was a Senior Lecturer at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen where he was also the Director of Research in the School of Engineering. For the last 10 years, he has taught at UHI in Stornoway.

Dr Chris Macleod CPhys

Engineering Lecturer - UHI

Chris started his career as a research scientist and team leader at Hughes Aircraft Company, working mostly in the USA. For 20 years he was a Senior Lecturer at The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen where he was also the Director of Research in the School of Engineering. For the last 10 years he has taught at UHI in Stornoway. He has published over 100 peer reviewed papers and holds bachelor’s degrees in Physics, Electronics, Biology, Geology and Music; masters degrees in Computer Science and Communications Engineering, Space Science and Technology and a doctorate in Artificial Intelligence.
