'Best Before’ and ‘Use By’ Dates for Body Armour? (Barrow-in-Furness)

Food for Thought?

About

Whilst body armour is primarily designed to stop bullets and fragments, there are many other science and engineering challenges to consider such as coverage, sizing, fitting, human factors and management through life. This talk will focus on some of the lesser discussed aspects of managing body armour performance throughout its service life. Could ‘Use By' dates and ‘Best Before' dates from the food industry be used as a starting point to demystify the challenges faced?

Speaker: Dr. Eluned Lewis, Team Leader, SH ‘Survivability’, Qinetiq
