Cloud Based Video (In person and webinar)

About

This talk explores the evolution of traditional broadcast production, which relies on proprietary hardware and on-site personnel, and how this model is being transformed through cloud-based solutions. We will examine the transition from on-premise broadcast equipment to modern cloud environments, enabling remote operations from virtually anywhere. Key industry initiatives will be discussed, focusing on how extremely high data rates (up to 0.5Tbit/s) are managed with millisecond latency using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms, either on-site or in major public cloud providers like AWS, Azure, and GCP. Additionally, we will delve into the importance of open-source APIs, which empower operators to build best-of-breed platforms while leveraging advanced orchestration tools like Kubernetes for enhanced scalability and flexibility.
