Aircraft and their supporting systems are, in general today, totally dependant on digital electronic systems for their satisfactory performance. Multi-levels of flight saftey critically together with the associated need for partitioning to maintain integrity have potential to pose increasinly subtle threats to providing adequate overall safety , to both those on board and those on the ground.
