In this lecture, James will introduce the Rolls-Royce Micro-Reactor and explain how advancements in Nuclear technology are unlocking the potential in this concept for a small, resilient power source.
He will discuss potential applications including terrestrial power generation, the NASA Artemis mission, and nuclear propulsion for exploration beyond the Moon.
In conclusion, he will summarise the Rolls-Royce programme, including the recently announced UK Space Agency contract to develop the design and supporting technologies, and consider the wider opportunities for UK industry.
