Effective Asset Management: Maximizing High-Voltage Equipment Lifespan
hosted by IET Singapore Network Power and Energy Section
About
IET Singapore Network invites members and guests to join us for an evening networking seminar organised by the Power and Energy Section with a speaker, Neil Davies, coming from Australia.
Effective asset management is key to maximizing the lifespan and reliability of high-voltage equipment. The speaker will discuss the critical role of Partial Discharge (PD) testing in assessing asset health, focusing on the three primary types of PD—internal, surface, and corona—and their impact on equipment degradation. Participants will gain insights into the P-to-F curve, for predicting asset failure, and learn how to determine the optimal frequency for PD testing.
Through real-world case studies, the speaker will compare periodic testing with continuous monitoring, providing participants with the knowledge to develop a customized PD testing strategy that enhances asset performance and minimizes failure risks resulting in maximising the lifespan of the equipment.
