Electromagnetic Challenges in Naval Platform Topside Design
About
A Naval Topside Electromagnetic Environment is one of the most complex and harsh that design engineers are likely to encounter. Through well-established Electromagnetic Environment Effects (EEE) disciplines, we design and manage the Topside layout and environment.
Topside Design focuses primarily on RADiation HAZard (RADHAZ), Mutual Interference (MI), Antenna Coverage and Blind Arcs. Placement of sensors and navigation equipment on the Topside of a Naval platform is constrained by a number of important but diverse and sometimes conflicting factors, each of which may have different weighting, depending upon the nature and role of the equipment.
