Engineering a better world through standards
An IET members perspective on influencing the acceleration of pace of adoption of technology that supports the move towards a zero-carbon future.
About
This talk will explore one of the ways that the IET in New Zealand and Australia plays a role in its Strategy 2030, including how it can help influence society, linked in this case to the societal challenges of sustainability.
This will be from the perspective of a local member, Mr Nick Elliott, that the IET has supported to join an AU/NZS standards committee, focused on renewable energy power supply systems and equipment.
Nick will explain a little about his engineering background, his past experience and current role.
He will then go on to explain a little about AU/NZS standards and committees before a focus on some of the current projects that his committee are working on.
The talk will be of interest to anyone wanting to know more about how IET Engineers in Australia and New Zealand can play their part in the IET vision of “Working to engineer a better world”, as well as any engineers interested in the standards being developed to support renewable energy system connectivity.
