Engineering Biology

This talk will give a simplified overview of engineering biology, and will explain what engineering biology is, the advantages it can provide over conventional technologies and provide a perspective on future considerations. Some of the challenges facing the engineering biology community will be outlined and example applications will be highlighted.

Professor Sajad Haq is Chief Scientist at QinetiQ. He has extensive expertise in developing a variety of technologies and their exploitation for applications for societal benefit, and has established a portfolio of novel technologies, programmes, infrastructure and teams for a range of applications in the commercial arena and working collaboratively to ensure technology exploitation.
