Engineering our Future

About

Engineering is playing a pivotal role in shaping the future of the railway industry, with advances in digital technologies helping to improve safety, reliability, performance and sustainability. This lecture will explore how innovations such as remote track and train condition monitoring, intelligent energy management, Connected Driver Advisory Systems (C-DAS), traffic and speed management, and the migration from GW BR-ATP to ETCS using Adaptive ETCS are transforming how railways are operated and maintained.

Attendees will gain an insight into the technologies and engineering strategies being developed and implemented to create a more efficient, connected and resilient railway network, while addressing the challenges of modern transport systems.

This is a joint event organised by the IET, IMechE and IRSE.
