We’re hosting an Institution of Engineering Technology (IET) event on 25 February, 1500–1700 at the Royal Engineers Museum—a valuable CPD opportunity for anyone involved in engineering, maintenance, training, or safety‑critical work.

The topic, “Hazardous Areas at Work”, will be presented by guest speaker John Harris, Head of Business Development at CompEx and a seasoned technical expert in hazardous environments.

Please note that this event is only open to IET members. Car details may also need to be provided prior to entry on site.

John Harris

Head of business development - CompEx

John is a time-served electrician with hands‑on experience across Oil & Gas, Steel, and Power Generation sectors. After more than 15 years training and assessing Electrical Engineering candidates, he moved into senior roles overseeing qualification development, technical standards, and national occupational standards.
He now plays a central role in shaping CompEx’s qualifications and
advising on best practice for working in explosive atmospheres.
