Hinkley Point C (HPC) project update and early commissioning activities

HPC project has set up 16 milestones for 2024, which are also known as Project Goals.  These project milestones include: Unit 1 Start of Heat Exchanger component install as part of the Diesel programme, Unit 2 Reactor Building transfer compartment & Reactor Cavity pool installation, Unit 1 Reactor Pressure Vessel installation, Unit 1 Auxiliary Transformer systems ready for commissioning and Unit 2 Liner Ring 3 lifted into place, amongst others.  An update on the current progress for these milestones and those already completed will be presented.

Additionally, following a 12 month assessment period, ONR has recently confirmed HPC can implement the first whole plant nuclear safety case in a generation.  Alongside the approval of Licence Condition 21, this means HPC has the green light to start commissioning with the first activities related to electrical systems commissioning.  An update on the strategy and progress will also be presented.
