Lecture

How German technology helped Britain win World War 2.

The technology allowing the production of light metal surfaces was fundamental to the construction of British aircraft used in World War 2. This lecture will also be streamed online.

About

This lecture tells the compelling story of Loewy Engineering, set up by an engineer who fled from the Nazis, and brought the crucial light-metals technology  from Germany to Britain in 1936. This new firm played a key role in wartime aircraft and naval vessel production.

Ludwig Loewy was celebrated as an engineer.
