How to use Corporate Venturing
(an alternative to venture capital, offering faster routes to market)
About
Corporate venturing is playing an increasingly important role in how start-ups are funded, innovation is commercialised, and new markets are reached faster with new products and services, Traditional venture capital has just been joined by activist funding via corporate venturing.
This one-hour webinar will introduce the concept of corporate venturing and explore how it can offer faster, more strategic routes to market for startups, scale-ups and established organisations alike.
Led by Maija Palmer, Editor-in-Chief of Global Corporate Venturing, the session will provide an overview of how corporate venturing works, how it differs from conventional venture capital, and why it is becoming a critical part of the global innovation ecosystem. Attendees will gain insight into the opportunities and challenges of working with corporate investors, including how startups can identify the right corporate partners and avoid common pitfalls.
The webinar will also highlight the international reach of corporate venturing, the growing role it plays in connecting UK innovation with global markets, and how organisations can position themselves to engage effectively. A panel discussion with members of the IET Innovation Management Technical Network will follow the presentation, offering practical perspectives and discussion on real-world applications and future directions.
This session is aimed at early-stage companies, SMEs, innovators, and organisations interested in alternative approaches to growth, collaboration and investment, and will offer valuable context ahead of the Global Corporate Venturing Symposium2026 later in June.
