About

Hydrogen and carbon capture stand at the forefront of global efforts to achieve net-zero emissions. Depending on their application, they offer complementary or competing pathways to decarbonize industry, transport, and power generation. This talk explores some technological innovations, deployment challenges, and the policy frameworks driving adoption.

The Speaker:  Richard Hamilton

Richard Hamilton is part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries EMEA’s Decarbonisation Team, helping customers meet NetZero targets through advanced carbon capture technology, currently working on applying MHI’s capture systems to the Padeswood Cement Plant in North Wales.

With over a decade at Mitsubishi Power Europe, he led teams in materials, engineering, and supply chain development. His projects have spanned life-cycle management, energy storage and hydrogen firing.  Before joining Mitsubishi, he was a Research Fellow and Lecturer in Materials at Imperial College London.
