This talk will explore the ambitious journey of a green hydrogen project aimed at decarbonising Scotland’s iconic whisky industry. Set against the rugged Cairngorms, the presentation will delve into the project’s vision to replace fossil fuels with hydrogen produced from renewable power.

The talk will cover key technical, logistical and regulatory hurdles, alongside community engagement and cultural resistance.

Christina Smitton

Chartered Chemical Engineer

Christina Smitton is a chartered chemical engineering with over 25 years experience in the oil and gas, hydrogen and CCUS industries. Experienced project manager with significant early-stage project experience, alongside operations and decommissioning experience, excellent understanding of the lifecycle of an asset and worked significantly with subsurface and commercial disciplines on oil and gas fields, hydrogen and CCUS developments throughout the world. Good strategic understanding and detailed technical expertise. Fellow of IChemE.
