IBC Review 2026 - Delivering the Future

The practicalities of executing the new technologies

About

Join our panel of industry experts and journalists for an overview of the significant themes from the International Broadcasting Convention. Come along to find out how the future of entertainment can be delivered.

The industry is no longer asking what changes are coming, but how to put them to work. The IBC theme centres on addressing the urgent, real-world questions that media companies must confront immediately, focused on:

- Shifting Business Models: Confronting platform complexity, personalization, monetization, and evolving audience behaviours.
- Transformative Tech: Moving technologies like AI from mere promise to real-world deployment and operational workflows.
- People & Purpose: Navigating critical issues like content trust, security, authenticity, and provenance in an era of digital disruption

Each year, the IBC (International Broadcasting Convention) show drives thought leadership, innovation, best practice and diversity across the 250,000-strong global IBC community. Owned by industry organisations IET, Royal Television Society (RTS), IAMT, IEEE BTS, SCTE and SMPTE, the event offers a full schedule of groundbreaking presentations, panel sessions, workshops, product demos and technology masterclasses. It brings together tens of thousands from across the worldwide media content and technology community to learn, collaborate and network.

For those who weren't able to attend, this panel discussion, co-hosted with the RTS (Royal Television Society) and the IET Media Technical Network, is the next best thing. It promises to be an informative and lively discussion on the key trends, products and research covered, providing answers to the question: How can the future of entertainment  be delivered?

Join our chair Ian Nock, CEO, Fairmile West & Chair IET Media Technical Network with a panel of key industry people and journalists.
