IET Jennison Lecture 2024

From data flow analysis to data security, privacy, responsible AI, and more

About

We are living in an era of “Internet of Everything” and “Big Data” nowadays, and a lot of personal and non-personal data are constantly flowing between different entities such as computing devices, software systems, people and organisations.

Such data flows can lead to various concerns about security and privacy, and are also at the core of many other problems we are facing such as the irresponsible use of AI systems and misinformation.

In this talk, the speaker will share his own research, thoughts and recommendations on applying data flow analysis in several application domains, including e-tourism, intelligent transport systems, and healthcare.

He welcomes a more interactive discussion with the audience on how data flow analysis can be applied in other application domains. He will also explain his views on how such data flow analysis requires interdisciplinary research and how it can benefit practitioners and policymakers in the real world.
