IET Prestige Lecture Award Dinner 2026 (PLAD 2026)

About

The IET Prestige Lecture and Awards Dinner (PLAD) 2026 is the annual flagship event of the IET Malaysia Local Network, bringing together the engineering community to promote the profession, strengthen collaboration, and recognise excellence. The 2026 theme, “Engineering Sustainable Futures through Technology: Empowering Talent, Strengthening Values, Delivering Excellence,” highlights the role of technology in building a sustainable future, supported by capable talent, strong professional values, and a commitment to excellence. The evening will provide a platform for industry leaders, young professionals, and changemakers to exchange ideas and explore opportunities for meaningful collaboration.

A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the IET Malaysia Outstanding Young Professionals Award, IET Malaysia Women Engineer Award, IET Industry Excellence Award, and IET Industry Captain Award. Together, these awards recognise emerging talent, exceptional contributions by women in engineering, outstanding industry achievements, and distinguished industry leadership. They celebrate individuals and organisations whose contributions advance engineering and technology and create a positive impact on society.

The Prestige Lecture will be delivered by YBhg. Prof. Dato' Ts. Ir. Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim bin Abdul Mutalib, FASc., offering perspectives aligned with this year’s theme on advancing engineering and technology towards a sustainable future.

This year, we are honoured to welcome IET President, Sam Hubbard, and IET Chief Executive and Secretary, Ed Almond, whose attendance will further strengthen connections between the Malaysian engineering community and the IET’s global leadership.
