IET WA Visit2: From Perth to Space - Site Visit to the Fugro's Australian Space Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Control Complex (SpAARC)
About
The IET WA Local Network invites you to join us visiting Fugro's Australian Space Automation, Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Control Complex (SpAARC), established through collaboration between Fugro, the Australian Space Agency and the Western Australian Government and which is helping position Perth as a leading centre for future space operations.
SpAARC is a world-class remote operations and mission control facility located in Perth designed to support the development, testing and operation of autonomous systems in challenging terrestrial and space environments. The facility builds on Western Australia's globally recognised expertise in remote operations and provides a platform for robotics, automation and artificial intelligence applications supporting industries both on Earth and beyond.
During the visit, attendees will gain insight into the technologies, infrastructure and engineering capabilities that underpin modern remote operations and autonomous systems. The session we will explore how expertise developed in sectors such as mining, energy and maritime operations is being applied to emerging challenges in robotics, lunar exploration and future space missions.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn more about the role of simulation environments, communications systems, robotic control platforms and AI-enabled operations within advanced mission environments.
As this is a hosted technical site visit, places will be strictly limited. Registration with the IET WA Local Network is required prior to attendance, and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. We need to close registration one week prior to submit the list to Fugro so please do book early.
