About
Our guest speaker is Chris Meadows, Director at CSconnected, who established the world’s first compound semiconductor cluster that is rapidly evolving across South Wales and the West of England.
His talk will detail how Wales has played an important role within the global semiconductor industry with many of today’s high-tech products being dependent on technologies designed and manufactured in Wales. For several decades, Welsh based technologies have enabled the internet, mobile phones and the electric revolution. In future, this tech will be found enabling robotics, AI, quantum and a wide range of other new and emerging technologies.
CSconnected is the collective brand for a growing number of advanced semiconductor related activities in Wales, home to a unique community of academic institutions, prototyping facilities and global, high-volume manufacturing capabilities that collaborate across a range of research and innovation programs.
