Industrial Automation to Industrial Autonomy
About
Autonomous operations represent the pinnacle of industrial autonomy, where systems and processes operate independently across the entire value chain without human intervention. These operations are characterized by assets and systems endowed with human-like and beyond human-like cognitive capabilities—learning, adapting, and responding to unforeseen scenarios within secure, bounded domains. Crucially, they manage all safety-critical functions autonomously, even in situations not anticipated during design.
During this presentation, Dave Board Principal Technology Strategist for Yokogawa HQ explores the concept of autonomous operations, defining their scope and significance in modern industry. He will outline the technological evolution driving this transformation, including advancements in robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning and Brain Computer Interfaces. As industries progress through various stages of automation, these technologies are accelerating the journey toward fully autonomous systems. Attendees will gain insights into the strategic steps and innovations enabling this shift, and the implications for operational efficiency, safety, and scalability.
