Marinus Link Project hosted by IET Victoria Network (Hybrid event)
About
IET Victoria invites you to an exclusive event with Mike Carter, Project Director for Marinus Link.
Marinus Link is a proposed undersea and underground electricity and data interconnector between North- West Tasmania and the Latrobe Valley in Victoria.
It will enable the flow of more electricity in both directions, delivering low-cost, reliable and clean energy for customers in the National Electricity Market (NEM).
With Marinus Link, Tasmania can import low-cost renewable energy, such as surplus solar, while reserving hydropower and storing the extra energy. Hydropower can then be exported to the mainland grid when it is needed most to reduce the risk of brownouts.
Join us as Mike provides an in-depth look at this critical infrastructure project, which will play a critical role in Australia’s energy transition.
In this session, Mike will discuss:
• A Project overview and its significance
• Key drivers behind the project and why it is essential
• Challenges being faced
• How it supports the energy transition
• Unique aspects of the project
This is a hybrid event, but we highly encourage in-person attendance for an engaging and interactive experience. Don't miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights and network with industry professionals.
