Mauritius Local Network AGM

IET members in Mauritius are kindly invited to attend the Annual General Meeting of the IET Mauritius Network, to be held on Monday, 9 March 2026, as from 17:45 (local time) at Ebene House.

This is open to all current IET members in Mauritius.

Notice of vacancies

This is to give notice of vacancies on the IET Mauritius Network committee for the period 2025/2026 which need to be filled by election. The committee shall consist of up to 9 elected members and 2 co-opted members.

We strongly encourage members to stand for election as this will be an opportunity to contribute towards enhancing the Engineering & Technology Sector in Mauritius.

Please note that according to the association’s constitution:
(i)    “Voting by proxy at general meetings shall be allowed subject to Section 28(3) of the Registration of Associations Act and to paragraphs 5 and 6 of Article 8 below” (paragraph 3 of Article 8)
(ii)    “For any purpose other than the taking of a "special resolution", no Individual member shall vote by proxy through another Individual member for more than nine (9) members.” (paragraph 5 of Article 8)

NOTE: 
1.    “Notice of candidature to the Managing Committee and every motion to be purported to be on the agenda of the Annual General Meeting shall be given in writing, and in electronic format to the Secretary of the Association at least seven (7) days before the date for which the meeting is scheduled” (paragraph 2 of Article 5 of the association’s constitution)
2.    “In case there is no quorum: the Annual General Meeting or the Special General Meeting convened under paragraph 2.1 of Article 7 above shall be postponed for a fortnight and at that subsequent meeting the business of the day shall be proceeded with notwithstanding the number of members present;” (paragraph 5.1 of Article 7 of the association’s constitution). Hence, in case of no quorum, the AGM shall be re-scheduled for Monday, 23 March 2026 at the same time and at the same venue.
