The HVDC Moyle Interconnector is the HVDC link connecting the electricity grids of Northern Ireland and Scotland using underwater cables between converter stations in Ballycronanmore, County Antrim in Northern Ireland and Auchencrosh, South Ayrshire in Scotland which went into service in 2001. The HVDC Moyle has capacity of 500MW and consists of two monopolar 250kV DC cables with a transmission capacity of 250MW each. This will be a fantastic opportunity to visit the site and find out more about the interconnector.
